Daycare Center Shut Down

Last week, I wrote about a young child who died in July from heat exposure after being left in a van for seven hours.  The van was driven by an employee of Yellow Brick Road daycare center.  The driver “forgot” the child was in the van and the daycare center did not call the parents by 8:30 in the morning to check on the child’s whereabouts as was its policy.  The owner of Yellow Brick Road was charged with felony child neglect.  The van driver, Keishawn Whittfield, who is the son of the owner of the daycare center, was charged with involuntary manslaughter.

It was reported yesterday that Valerot Wilmot, the owner of Yellow Brick Road, has surrendered her license and shut down her daycare center.
