Tips for buying safe home play equipment
It can be so confusing when you go out to buy play equipment for your own backyard. You want to provide a safe and fun environment for your children and their friends to play on, but there are so many decisions. What size is right? What should be included in the equipment? What materials should the equipment be made of? Here are some things to consider:
• Talk to other parents and neighbors — what have their experiences been?
• Be sure you have a cushioned surface underneath the equipment — many injuries come from falls.
• Think about where the equipment will be placed — you need to be able to see it when children are playing.
